Native writer/director Milcho Manchevski provided his native countrymen with the very first film in the Macedonian language, Before the Rain . This film has received many awards. Mr. Manchevski directs with a keen eye for contemporary Macedonia. Mothers portrays all types of mothers, neglectful, loving, even absent.
Two other movies which Mr. Manchevski wrote and directed are Dust and Shadows . He teaches directing in New York, and has lived in the United States for quite some time. He studied at university in Chicago.
