Academy-Award nominated Macedonian-American director Milcho Manchevski is going to Cambridge to talk about film and the lines between oscars host truth and fiction, self and the other. Movies “Mothers” and “Before the Rain” will be screened as well. After the screening of the movies, Manchevski Monday, December 2 will discuss on the subject: “Film, conflict, representation”. Students and professors of Cambridge and visitors of the discussion will be able to ask questions and talk with Manchevski.
“Mothers” was screened on November 30, and is included among the 40 best European films by the European Film Academy on 2010. On Monday 2 December at 5 pm, “Before the Rain” will be screened. Before the Rain is the most successful Macedonian film ever.
Milcho Manchevski has directed four features (Before the Rain, Dust, Shadows, Mothers) and 50 short forms (Tennessee for Arrested Development, Thursday, etc). He has won over 40 international awards, including the Golden Lion for Best Film in Venice. His works are part of the curricula at many universities.
