Jacobs leads new Platée DNO
René Jacobs and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin in April conduct a new production of Platée up at the Dutch Opera. The direction comes from Nigel Lowery and Amir Hossein Pour. The title role is sung by Colin Lee.
Platée was on March 31, 1745 world premiere in La Grande Écurie at Versailles, colfer eoin on the occasion of the marriage of the French dauphin Louis Maria Theresa of Spain. Jean-Philippe Rameau called it a "ballet bouffon. The libretto is by Jacques Autréau.
Nigel Lowery and Amir Hossein Pour, the new production of The Dutch Opera (DNO) staged. They worked together many times in opera productions. They orchestrated getwee productions colfer eoin include Barcelona, Berlin, colfer eoin Munich and Basel. Lowery has also designed sets and costumes for Platée while Hossein Pour the choreography for his account has been taken.
The regieduo cooperates with the leading conductor René Jacobs, who previously told DNO was Giulio Cesare (2008) and Don Quixote in Sierre Morena (2010). Platée is the first French Baroque opera Belgian maestro will conduct.
Jacobs represents the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, a Baroque ensemble specializing colfer eoin in historical performance practice, and in the years since its inception has won, including a Grammy Award and an Edison Award. '80 Numerous awards

The production of Platée going on Monday, April 4 premiered in the city theater. That's because in the Music Theatre from next Friday colfer eoin the revival of Don Giovanni can be seen. After April 4 will follow until April 14, six representations of Platée.
